TULSA, Okla., Feb. 6, 2018 – Stonebridge Consulting, an oil and gas consulting services company, announces it recently completed an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software selection and vendor evaluation engagement for an Oklahoma-based oil and gas company.
The ERP software selection process, including an in-depth evaluation of three ERP systems, was completed by Stonebridge in less than 60 days to meet the company’s business objectives. Stonebridge’s client is a privately owned Tulsa-based operator with active and planned horizontal developments in the Oklahoma STACK formation.
As applied at upstream companies, ERP systems typically cover land and accounting, with occasional inclusion of operations.
In the engagement, Stonebridge managed the entire ERP software evaluation process, including:
- Project Preparation and Planning – Executed a pre-selection assessment of the client’s requirements impacted by the ERP implementation (Financial Accounting, JIB Accounting, Revenue Accounting, Division Orders, Production and Midstream).
- Strategic Roadmap – Developed a strategic ERP vision addressing the client’s current needs and accelerated implementation timeline.
- RFI Issuance and Introductory Demonstrations – Notified ERP software vendors to assess their ability to meet the client’s defined business requirements.
- Vendor RFP and Software Demonstrations – Orchestrated the RFP process, analyzed vendor responses to ensure the client’s functional and technical requirements are met, and managed software demos.
- Vendor Evaluation and Final Selection – Executed a structured step-by-step ERP software evaluation process including TCO estimates and client references.
- Contract Negotiations – Conducted negotiations with the selected ERP software vendor on behalf of the client to finalize terms and conditions.
Post-ERP selection, Stonebridge will function in a project management role to oversee the ERP system implementation, working closely with the software vendor and business users throughout the process.
“Completing an evaluation of three ERP systems in less than 60 days was a significant accomplishment appreciated by our client as well as the vendors,” said Kate Stevenson, Stonebridge Managing Director. “Evaluating and selecting commercial ERP systems is an inherently complex undertaking. Software functionality, total cost of ownership and implementation factors are key considerations. But the ultimate factor in the selection process is determining which system provides the best fit for the client’s needs, both now and weighing anticipated growth. The client is very pleased with the results, especially in light of their accelerated timeframe.”
